Prof. Dr Ajinkya Prabhune has been working with SRH Universities since 2013. He has created the Master’s study programme “Big Data and Data Analytics” (BDBA) and extended the “Applied Computer Science” (ACS) programme with cutting edge topics in the area of computer science. He is currently working with the SRH Distance Learning University as a professor of data science and business analytics and international relationships coordinator for India.
He completed his bachelor's degree in Pune University and his Master's degree in SRH University Heidelberg. After graduation, he worked at ATOS Origin and SAP Germany as a software developer for a few years. As he always wanted to seek a career in research and academics, after his stint in the software industry, Prof. Dr Prabhune pursued his PhD from Heidelberg University in collaboration with Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. His PhD focused on the cross-domain areas of big data management, large-scale data processing, metadata and provenance management, and the design of architectures for complex domain-specific data.
He has published 30+ high-quality scientific papers in conferences and journals. His research interests are designing and implementing complex software architectures, text mining, data management and engineering for large data, and machine learning. His teaching areas are software architectures, advanced databases, data mining concepts, data warehouses & ETL, big-data management frameworks, data curation techniques, and machine learning. He is actively collaborating with various industries on their projects and use cases for empowering their businesses with machine learning techniques.
Prof. Dr. Prabhune is dedicated to equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed for successful careers in the data science and artificial intelligence sectors, whether in industry or research.
